Zoé4life attaches great importance to protecting the privacy of the information you provide on our website. This is why we would like to inform you about how we handle your personal data, and in particular how it is used, passed on to third parties, stored and destroyed.

Data protection declaration

The Association Zoé4life, headquartered in Sullens, Switzerland, (CHE-422.904.024) is committed to protecting the privacy of the users of its website. By using the Zoé4life website (https://zoe4life.org), you agree to the collection and use of your data in accordance with this privacy policy. It contains exclusively provisions applicable in connection with the use of our website.

Personal data" is any data relating to an identified or identifiable individual.

Type of personal data collected and processed

As a general rule, we collect and process the following personal data about you:

  • Your last name, first name, address, postal code, city, country, telephone number, e-mail address and date of birth.
  • Correspondence with you and any information you send us in this way (e.g. your donation history).
  • Financial data (personal data relating to financial transactions - e.g. your credit card details - are not transmitted to us).
    Your requests for links to other websites (such as your Facebook account) may also provide us with information about you.

We also collect details relating to your visit to our website via cookies (e.g. the IP address of the requesting computer, which is not associated with usage profiles, your geolocation, browsing data, date and time of access, browser type and version, operating system). This purely statistical data relates to browser activity and user behavior patterns. Collected anonymously, they cannot be used to identify you.

Activities requiring the collection of personal data

We collect and process only the personal data that are necessary for our activities. We collect your data for the following activities that you carry out on our website:

  • When you subscribe to our newsletter (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • When you contact us in connection with our activities or events.
  • When you send us a donation by any means.
  • When you have used or benefited from our services.
  • When you apply for a position with us.
  • When you are recruited as an employee or subcontractor.
  • When you purchase a product from our online store

Purposes of processing

We always process your personal data for a specific purpose and only process the personal data relevant to achieving that purpose. In particular, we process personal data for the following purposes:

  • For administrative purposes (e.g. mailings, donation certificates for tax deductions, entry of address changes).
  • To answer your questions and provide you with the services you have requested.
  • To continuously improve our website.
  • To assess system safety and stability.
  • To send you additional information about us and our services (in particular about our campaigns and fund-raising activities; see point 8 for details).
  • For marketing purposes (see point 8).

Cookies and similar technologies

On our website, we use cookies to track visits (frequency of use, number of users and behavior). This enables us to improve our website and make it easier for you, the user, to navigate.

We use Google Analytics to analyze the use of the offers published on our website. Google Analytics uses the data collected to track and observe traffic on our website. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the data collected to personalize ads on its own advertising network. The user can log out so that his or her activities on our website are no longer made available to Google. Legal basis for processing personal data

Insofar as we ask for your consent to process personal data, this consent serves as the legal basis. This is the case, for example, for our newsletter.

We process your data to process a donation or when you purchase a product from our online store insofar as this is necessary for the performance of a service you require.

Finally, we also process your personal data on the basis of our legitimate interests, which include optimizing our website and improving our services.

Security

To protect your data against unauthorized use, we apply technical and organizational measures. We improve our measures in line with technological progress, even if, unfortunately, data cannot yet be fully protected with the current state of the art.

In addition, financial data relating to donations is also subject to the data protection guidelines of our partner suppliers.

Registration of personal data

Your data is hosted on a dedicated cloud server, administered by an external service provider. An external service provider is responsible for technical support and has access to the corresponding Zoé4life account. This server is located in Geneva in our service provider's computing center. Data collected in connection with our newsletter or events is stored on our servers located in Sullens.

Retention period for personal data

We will only retain personal data for as long as is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected (see section 3 above).

In all other cases, we will delete your personal data, except where we must retain it in accordance with our legal obligations (e.g. obligation to retain).

Transmission of data to third parties

With the exception of external service providers for data hosting and technical support, your personal data will not be shared with third parties.

We may also be required to pass on personal data if we are obliged to do so by law or by an enforceable administrative or judicial decision.

Rights of persons concerned

As a data subject, you have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Right of access: The data subject has the right to obtain access to the personal data being processed;
  • Right of rectification: The data subject has the right to request that his/her data be rectified or completed;
  • Right to erasure or "right to be forgotten": The data subject has the right to request the erasure of his or her data;
  • Right to restriction of processing: The data subject has the right to obtain limitation of the processing of his/her data;
  • Right to data portability: The data subject has the right to retrieve his/her personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format; and
  • Right to object: data subjects have the right to object at any time to the processing of their personal data.

Your data will not be used to send you additional information about our services, nor for marketing purposes, unless you tick the corresponding box on the forms you download, or if you inform us by e-mail that you do not wish to use them or no longer wish to use them.

User obligations

As a user, you are obliged to keep your login details (user name and password) for accessing our website to make donations or purchase items from our online store in a safe place, and to prevent unauthorized third parties from gaining access to your login details. As a user, you are responsible for all damages resulting from unauthorized use of your login and password.

Liability of the Association for the use of our website

We accept no liability for any direct or indirect damage you may suffer as a user in connection with the use of our website. The liability of the Association is excluded insofar as such exclusion is legally permissible.

Our website contains links to other websites. We accept no responsibility for the data protection compliance of the owners of these other websites, nor for the content of these websites.

Law applicable to this data protection declaration

We collect and process personal data in accordance with the Swiss Data Protection Act (Federal Data Protection Act of June 19, 1992, SR. 235.1). Where applicable, data is processed in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).
