Lausanne 20 km cancelled: Zoé4life creates Move4life

Solo, adults, children, families or couples, take up the "Move4life" challenge! Don't hesitate to spread the word and sign up!Zoé4life adapts to current events! On May 2 and 3, a large number of athletes were due to take part in the 20km de Lausanne in the colors of Zoé4life, to raise funds for children with cancer. Unfortunately, the race had to be cancelled due to the health crisis linked to the Coronavirus.
Our participation in this race is one of our big events of the year. More than 200 participants set off in 2019 under the colors of Zoé4life, to support our cause. Together, they raised CHF 35,000.

Unfortunately, this year, our runners won't be able to take to the starting line... For hours we've been thinking, turning the problem upside down. How could we make this long-awaited fund-raiser for our association a reality? How could we enable the public to continue to help us while staying at home, because with what's happening, children with cancer need us all the more. That's how we came up with the idea of "Move4life", a challenge open to everyone! How does it work? It's easy! You come up with a challenge that you'll complete on May 2 and/or 3, 2020, for which you will be training at home, and motivate your friends and family to support you by raising a minimum donation of CHF 50. You don't want to create a collection? No problem! Simply make a donation of CHF 50 to Zoé4life, which will go to support children with cancer.   What we want to take away from this crisis is that the coronavirus is like cancer... it forces us to adapt and live day by day... What we want to take away is that we can all do it! These are very difficult times for us all, and Zoé4life has not been spared. In fact, our association lives solely on donations, and with all the events being cancelled one after the other, we won't have any significant financial income.
It promises to be a particularly difficult year, but we're not giving up, because :

  1. Our goals remain unchanged;
  2. Our commitments remain the same, and we must honor them;
  3. Our motivation is infallible.

 The world of pediatric cancer suffers from this situation, as the entire planet has its eyes riveted on the coronavirus... yet new children are diagnosed with cancer every day, and the fight will continue beyond this pandemic. Pediatric cancer is serious, and the current situation is catastrophic, but what if we lightened things up a bit by taking on some fun and different challenges? The Zoé4life committee has put together a list of challenge ideas for you, which we'll pass on to you once you've registered, and which you can do without leaving your home, given the confined situation.

Our aim is to show that it's not confinement that's going to stop us from supporting children with cancer, because it's together that we can make a difference!

On your marks, get set, and Move4life!

Staying at home also means protecting children with cancer!
