September is the month of awareness International Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout the world during this month, monuments and historic sites will be illuminated in the color GOLD, the symbolic color of childhood cancer.

Zoé4life has been leading the solidarity drive during this special month for years.. Once again, Geneva's Jet d'Eau will be lit up in GOLD on the first Friday in September, our banners will be displayed across Lausanne, and our flags bearing the GOLD ribbon will adorn the Mont-Blanc bridge throughout the week preceding the month. Our famous GOLD ribbons will be available in hundreds of stores throughout French-speaking Switzerland, and new in 2020, also in a few stores in German-speaking Switzerland.

This year, the September GOLD campaign is even bigger than in previous years.

In 2020, the eyes of the world are riveted on the COVID-19 pandemic. All of you discover a semblance of what life is like for a family with a child suffering from cancer.

Learn how to wash your hands and how to use disinfectant. You learn how to wear a mask to protect others. You've learned what it's like to be isolated, to not know what tomorrow will bring or what the next few weeks will bring, or to have your plans cancelled or changed.

You'll discover what it's like to live from day to day, what 250 to 300 families in Switzerland go through every year. Many of you are not insensitive to this, and would like to mobilize for these families this September. Yes, pediatric cancer has not stopped, and it continues to strike new children every day in Switzerland and around the world.

We're extremely touched to see how many of you are getting involved. It's wonderful to see that every year the momentum of solidarity around the September GOLD campaign grows.

In 2019, thanks to your mobilization, it was the sum of CHF 50,000.00 that you helped us raise through these little GOLD ribbons. This enabled us to offer additional support for the implementation of new treatment protocols in Switzerland.

The pandemic is not holding us back, nor is it demotivating us.
