Raising Awareness and International Advocacy

Cancer knows no borders, age limits or social status.

Before a person enters the cancer world, whether in their family or from a distance, it is hard to imagine the turmoil the diagnosis and treatment wreaks of the entire family. This is is why Zoé4life’s role is to raise awareness about childhood cancer.

Every year in Switzerland 300 to 350 children aged 18 years or younger are diagnosed with cancer.

Treatment for cancer takes months or often years. Four out of five children survive, but often with serious long term side effects.

One child dies of cancer every week in Switzerland. cancer is the leading cause of death by disease in children.

The consequences of such an illness on children and their families are serious. It is important to be able to talk about child cancer without taboos, and also to be involved at an international level in order to make a difference because too few funds are allocated to research into pediatric oncology

Cancer knows no borders: treatments are not always accessible in the child’s country.
