Research in childhood cancer in Switzerland

New innovative treatments and research studies in childhood cancer are being made more quickly accessible to children in Switzerland through our long-standing partnership with the Swiss Pediatric Oncology Group

In fact, since 2015, our association has provided financial support of several hundred thousand francs to SPOG each year. The Swiss Pediatric Oncology Group regularly sends us reports of each study. Concretely this allows us to follow the evolution of the protocols we have chosen to fund.

The Swiss Pediatric Oncology Group (SPOG), is an association whose objective it is to advance clinical, i.e. directly patient-focused paediatric cancer research. Our members are hospital departments in Switzerland that are taking care of children and adolescents with cancer and blood diseases. They are located at the university hospitals in Bern, Basel, Zurich, Lausanne and Geneva and in the children’s hospitals of St. Gallen, Lucerne, Aarau and Bellinzona. Other members are the Childhood Cancer Registry, as well as representatives of paediatric surgery, radiology and pathology.

SPOG works nation-wide in Switzerland and maintains intense cooperation with leading international research groups.
